We’re looking for a manual UX/UI QA specialist to join our team. In this role you’ll help our teams of developers to release the best product possible, and you’ll work together on all stages of software development from evaluating designs to development to launching new features to our users.
We practice testing early and often, giving and receiving feedback on every stage of work. Our teams use a mix of automated (by the developer team) and manual (by the QA team) testing approaches, and we’re constantly looking for ways to make them better.
In the process of working and testing our product, technical thinking and a great desire to understand how everything works are very helpful. You’ll be able to not only create test documentation, but also actively interact with the development teams in the early stages, participate in the development of the testing department, suggest improvements to the process, and influence the product itself as its active user.
This is a remote position under a service agreement. Our Engineering team’s workday typically starts around 11AM (GMT+1 time zone). Therefore, the maximum allowable time zone difference is plus or minus 4 hours so we can all stay connected.
Who we are:
Readymag is a browser-based design tool that helps create any kind of web publication: landing pages, portfolios, magazines, websites, multimedia longreads and pitch decks. We’re also a distributed team with a strong international user community and client-oriented service.
What you will do:
— manually test new and existing features;
— put down documentation (including writing checklists for new features);
— generate ideas for test cases together with our developers and product manager.
What you’ll bring:
— 3+ years of manual UX/UI testing experience and a general understanding of how the complex product’s frontend works;
— experience working without specifications and writing testing structure at the mockup stage;
— experience using tools like GitHub and CI/CD or an idea of how they work. If you haven’t had such experience yet, we’ll be ready to share ours;
— a programming background in any language is a plus.
What you’ll get:
— Remote work with a flexible schedule;
— 28 weekdays of paid annual leave;
— access to a corporate laptop;
— compensation for coworking space fees;
— language courses;
— compensation for sports or other physical activities;
— access to mental health support services;
— the freedom to think beyond established patterns.
How to apply:
Send us your CV and a cover letter summarizing your relevant work experience and motivation to join the Readymag team. If your experience matches our requirements, we’ll get back to you and schedule the next step.
The hiring process:
Our hiring process is fully remote.
The interview includes several steps:
— The first stage is a 20-minute HR screening call where you’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions.
— Next, we’ll ask you to fill out a form with a few questions about the QA field that don't require special preparation.
— After that, you’ll have a technical interview with our QA team. It usually takes around 90 minutes;
— Finally, you’ll have a finalizing call with Diana Kasay, CEO of Readymag.
A few days after the final stage, we’ll reach out to you with a decision.
