Role: Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with React Native background

We are building a next-generation, mobile-first travel platform transforming fragmented trip planning into seamless, emotionally resonant, one-click experiences. Backed with 100,000+ loyal users, we are building a predictive, AI-powered travel ecosystem — designed for modern mountain lovers who value simplicity, soul, and personalization.

We are preparing to launch our MVP in 2025 and scale across Europe and beyond. We’re looking for a CTO to lead this vision technically — from initial booking UX to predictive, data-aware travel personalization.

What You’ll Own:

1.⁠ ⁠MVP Architecture & Launch

• Lead the development of our responsive web MVP, integrating bundled trip flows (hotel, skipass, transfers, insurance)

• Architect backend logic for trip builder, referral engine, cookie-based personalization, and booking PDF generation

• Ensure clean, modular, scalable design — ready for app, upsells, concierge chat, and group planning in Phase 2

2.⁠ ⁠AI & Personalization Engine

• Build the first version of our AI-powered smart trip assistant using logic-based workflows (quiz, filters, GPT-4 optional)

• Develop the technical foundations for machine learning–driven personalization in future phases (e.g., “We’ve built your next trip. Tap to confirm.”)

• Structure data pipelines that capture behavior (cookies, UTM, session data, filters, booking paths) to power our predictive engine

• Ensure personalization UX is explainable, privacy-safe, and delightful — not gimmicky

3.⁠ ⁠Technical Infrastructure & Compliance

• Implement robust data tracking (GA4, Segment, Mixpanel), consent management (Google Consent Mode, Iubenda), and secure login (magic links)

• Oversee infrastructure on AWS or Google Cloud Platform, using Firebase + PostgreSQL for a lightweight but scalable stack

• Build and maintain GDPR-compliant architecture from day one, with user transparency and opt-out logic for AI flows

4.⁠ ⁠Team Management & Dev Process

• Set up development workflow, version control, QA/testing, and documentation for lean, high-velocity releases

• Coordinate a small team of frontend/backend contractors to deliver the MVP (React / Node.js / Python stack)

• Maintain internal tools (partner dashboard, inventory system) to manage early resort and service partners

5.⁠ ⁠Strategic Product Leadership

• Align product roadmap with scalable technical delivery — including:

• Phase 2: App development (React Native), concierge chat, wishlist sync

• Phase 3: ML-based personalization engine, behavior modeling, predictive push/email UX

• B2B tools: white-label SDKs, partner dashboards, retreat coordination modules

• Contribute to investor materials and technical due diligence — showcasing a scalable, defensible tech moat

Who You Are?

• 6–10+ years of experience in full-stack or backend development (preferably consumer-facing products)

• Strong background in AI applications (GPT-based UX, logic engines, ML recommendation systems, or travel AI)

• Hands-on experience with React / Next.js, Node.js, Python, Firebase, and PostgreSQL

• Comfortable architecting modular systems from scratch and scaling them quickly

• Deep interest in personalization, data-driven UX, and ethical AI implementation

• Fluent in English with excellent communication, prioritization, and product collaboration skills

• Passionate about mountains, travel, and elegant digital experiences

• You are based in Europe
