Darwin is hiring a PHP Backend Developer (WordPress & Drupal)

We’re a remote digital agency based in Reston, Virginia (USA), working with clients across industries—from startups to enterprise brands.

We’re looking for an experienced PHP developer with solid WordPress and Drupal skills to join our team.

Tasks:

- Develop, maintain, and enhance websites and web applications using PHP, primarily on WordPress and Drupal.

- Build and integrate custom modules, plugins, and themes.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and project managers to deliver effective solutions.

- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.

- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

General requirements:

- 4-5 years of proven experience with PHP development.

- Hands-on experience with WordPress and Drupal backend development.

- Understanding of MySQL and database design.

- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration practices.

- Experience with Laravel (nice to have).

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to work with at least 4 hours of overlap with the EST time zone.
